Brent Eldridge serves as the Lead Pastor of Arbor Road Church (ARC) in Long Beach California. After youth pastoring for 15 years, Brent was called in 2008 to serve in his role at ARC, (which is his home church). His team leadership approach to church ministry has helped to unleash the amazing gifts of the team around him as he regularly learns from and is hugely inspired by their abilities and passions. His personal passions include strategic thinking, teaching, encouraging others, connecting people and sharing his faith. Brent earned degrees from The Master’s College (BA Bible Exposition), Trinity Seminary (Master of Sacred Literature), John Brown University (Master of Science: Leadership), and is currently in progress at Liberty University (Doctor of Ministry: Pastoral Counseling). Away from his role at ARC, Brent served as the Chaplain for the LA Galaxy from 2012-2022, and still works with active and former Major League Soccer players. Brent and his wife of 27 years, Kristin, have three college-age kids (Jake, Cooper and Jillian).

During this weekend, John Lynch explored the Two Roads that we have a tendency to travel in our walk with God. He unpacked the Control Cycle and how we try and become better sin managers vs trusting God with who we are. In addition, John expanded on Forgiveness both horizontally and vertically. Finally, John spent some time on our Destiny in Christ.

Our culture says adulthood is the right to do “adult” things. These things distract us from God’s calling on our lives. We have an entire culture of men, both young and old, that crave significance, yet live in a time of confusion and distraction. A lot of local men have stopped connecting with a local church, or if they have, they fail to connect even within our church walls.

2016 - JOSH MCDOWELL - MISSION POSSIBLE
|
As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling, overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. After trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, Josh’s life changed dramatically as he experienced the power of God’s love.
After his conversion, his plans for law school turned instead to plans to tell a doubting world about the truth of Jesus Christ. After studying at Kellogg College, Josh completed his college degree at Wheaton College and then attended Talbot Theological Seminary, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity degree. |

2012- Steve Farrar - COWBOYS RISE UP

Author and renowned speaker Steve Farrar was the speaker at the 2012 conference. Farrar challenged the men to call on God to deal with the fear in their lives. Farrar also challenged the men to seek god to better understand their purpose in life, he challenged the men to pursue their passions for God.

2009 - ROD HANDLEY - LIFE IS A HIGHWAY

The primary focus of the conference in 2009 was on Accountability. Rod Handley, Author of the book "Character ThatCounts" blessed us by sharing his own testimony and provided a clear model of what Accountability should look like and the positive impact having an accountabilty group or partner can have on your life.
Rod Handley is the former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). 2008- BARRY BANDARA -FACING OUR GIANTS

Barry Bandara, Senior Pastor of Silverdale Baptist Church in Silverdale, Washington was the speaker for the 2008 conference. Bandara focused on what it means to be a man of the church. His agenda dealt with several key areas of Christian living in the areas of leadership where sessions covered: being a leader in church, what it means to be willing to die, being a better lover and being a better hero.
Barry's energy and passion in the area of leadership had a very positive impact on many of the men in attendance. |

2007- BILL THRALL - TRUE FACED

Bill Thrall was the speaker at the 2007 conference. Thrall serves as vice-chair of Leadership Catalyst, mentor, and coauthor of the bestselling TrueFaced. Thrall encouraged us to discover a new way of living. Most of us hide our true faces from others afraid to share what is really going on with our lives for fear of being judged or even rejected, but what if things were different, what if we openly shared our deepest inner struggles with others and we were embraced with loving grace from our Christian brothers. That is exactly the concept the men embraced during 2008 conference.

David Eckman was the speaker at the 2006 conference.David enjoys people and has a heart for the person in pain. He is convinced that understanding God's ways is pivotal for the healthy emotional life of the Christian. He is the author of "Becoming What God Intended". During our Conference, Eckman helped the men understand more about themselves through our family background. It was a very eye opening experience for many of the men.

2005- BILL TELL - THE GRACE OF GOD

In 2005 Bill Tell helped to lay the foundation for Conferences to follow. The topic of What God's Grace really looks like challenged the men to see God as a merciful God who is always with them even when they pull away from Him.
Tell is the Deputy U.S. Director is to partner with the Director and Leadership Team with The Navigators in the managing of operations, as well as stimulate and foster an environment of grace, team work and friendship among the team. Bill must lead and oversee the implementation of their calling, values and strategic directions in the field entities. He coaches, teaches, assesses and conducts conferences and retreats.
